We are partnering with a high-growth, pre-IPO company headquartered in the Phoenix metro area to recruit a Senior Manager, Technical Accounting. This role will be a cornerstone of the finance organization, responsible for complex technical accounting, global accounting policy, and IPO readiness as the company scales rapidly and prepares for the public markets.
This is a highly visible role with direct impact on accounting rigor, transaction support, and external-auditor readiness in a dynamic, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the company's technical accounting authority across complex U.S. GAAP and international matters
- Lead technical accounting analysis and documentation for:
- Revenue recognition (ASC 606), including complex, global customer contracts
- Lease accounting (ASC 842), including multinational lease portfolios
- Business combinations and purchase accounting (ASC 805)
- Stock-based compensation (ASC 718), including international equity considerations
- Consolidations, foreign subsidiaries, VIEs, and foreign currency (ASC 810 / 830)
- Develop and scale accounting policies, technical position papers, and IPO-ready documentation
- Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Tax, FP&A, and international finance teams on contract structuring and business initiatives
- Act as primary technical liaison with external auditors and advisors
- Support IPO readiness initiatives, including audit preparedness, disclosure rigor, and internal accounting frameworks
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to the accounting team
Candidate Profile
- Active CPA required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's preferred)
- 10+ years of progressive technical accounting experience
- 5+ years of public accounting experience (Big 4 or top-tier national firm strongly preferred)
- Deep expertise in ASC 606 (Revenue) and ASC 842 (Leases)
- Strong experience with international accounting issues, global entities, and cross-border transactions
- Proven ability to operate in fast-paced, high-growth, pre-IPO environments
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
